Product Description

Gentamycin Sulfate 10% injection 100ml vial

Content: 10% (i.e. 100mg of gentamicin sulfate per 1mL, calculated as gentamicin)

Indications
This product is an aminoglycoside antibiotic mainly used to treat bacterial infections in livestock and poultry caused by sensitive bacteria, including:

Intestinal, respiratory, and urinary tract infections caused by Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Proteus, etc.

Septicemia, skin infections, mastitis, etc. caused by Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus.

Pigs: yellow and white dysentery, edema disease, streptococcal disease, etc. in piglets.

Poultry: Escherichia coli disease, duck infectious serositis, chicken dysentery, etc.

Cattle and sheep: pneumonia, enteritis, mastitis, etc.

Usage and Dosage
1. Administration method
Intramuscular injection (preferred)

Subcutaneous injection (applicable to some animals)

Intravenous drip (limited to severe infections, slow injection required)

2. Recommended dose (calculated as gentamicin)
Pigs and sheep: 2-4 mg/kg body weight (i.e. 0.02~0.04 mL/kg), 1-2 times a day, for 3-5 consecutive days.

Cattle: 1-2 mg/kg body weight (i.e. 0.01~0.02 mL/kg), twice a day, for 3-5 consecutive days.

Poultry (chickens, ducks): 5-10mg/kg body weight (i.e. 0.05-0.1mL/kg), once a day, for 3 consecutive days.

(Note: For severe infections, the dosage can be appropriately increased, but it should be used under the guidance of a veterinarian.)

Adverse reactions
Renal toxicity: Long term or excessive use may cause damage to renal tubules (especially in animals with dehydration or renal insufficiency).

Ototoxicity: May cause vestibular nerve damage (such as ataxia, hearing loss).

Neuromuscular blockade: High doses may cause respiratory depression and muscle paralysis (which can be rescued with calcium supplements).

Allergic reactions: Occasional rash, fever, shock (medication should be stopped immediately and emergency treatment should be given).

[Precautions and Warning]
contraindication:

Animals allergic to aminoglycoside antibiotics are prohibited.

Animals with severe renal insufficiency are prohibited from use.

Young animals (such as newborn pigs and chicks) should be used with caution.

Drug interactions:

Do not use in combination with furosemide (diuretics), cephalosporins, or polymyxins (to increase nephrotoxicity).

Avoid co administration with neuromuscular blockers (such as succinylcholine) as it may worsen respiratory depression.

Special Warning:

Pregnant animals should be used with caution (can pass through the placental barrier).

Dehydrated animals need to be rehydrated before use to reduce the risk of kidney damage.

Not suitable for long-term use to avoid the development of drug-resistant strains.

[Rest period for medication]
Pigs and sheep: After intramuscular injection, stop taking the medicine 28 days before slaughter.

Cow: Stop taking medicine 40 days before slaughter.

Poultry (chickens, ducks): Stop medication 14 days before slaughter.

Milk: Abandoned for 5 days.

[Storage]
Keep away from light, sealed, and in a cool place (not exceeding 20 ºC).

Do not freeze to avoid affecting the efficacy of the medicine.

[Validity Period]
24 months
